Math is a medium I use to motivate my students and make learning a part of their everyday life. I work towards making students successful in math, and in the process build a sense of self- confidence and self-belief in them. Students are taught never to give up on a problem, to look for clues in the questions, to break up a problem into small sections – in short to try and try again. No matter what the level of the student, my philosophy is to raise the bar on my expectations for my students and so far I have not been disappointed. Very often students who are convinced they are “not a math person” discover that all it takes is a little concentration and a lot of practice to become a good student in both math and academics. Pottery is a hobby which helps me relax. When I am not teaching math, I am glazing a bowl or creating a mug. |
